Encino, CA (August 5, 2013) –ACM Lifting Lives® announced today that the August “My Cause” web feature will spotlight ACM Honors host Dierks Bentley and his charity organization, Miles & Music For Kids. The web feature drives awareness of artist-supported charitable organizations and supports fundraising efforts for those philanthropies.
My Cause is a way for ACM Lifting Lives to tangibly demonstrate the Academy’s support of country music artists. Many people have been helped by these fantastic charities, and ACM Lifting Lives bolsters that support by increasing awareness and funding for these very deserving causes. Over the past two years, ACM Lifting Lives has donated more than $190,000 to artists’ favorite charities through this program, and will again make a donation in addition to driving fan awareness.
This month, “My Cause: Miles & Music For Kids” highlights a celebrity motorcycle ride and concert started by Bentley. With the help of country music fans and artist friends, Bentley has raised over $2.5 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across the country. Twelve events have been held in 7 U.S. cities since the inaugural event in Nashville in 2006.

ACM Lifting Lives® is the philanthropic arm of the Academy of Country Music dedicated to improving lives through the power of music. Each year, ACM Lifting Lives provides funding to music-related therapy and education programs, including the organization’s flagship ACM Lifting Lives Music Camp, a partnership since 2010 with Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities in Nashville, TN. ACM Lifting Lives Music Camp is a week-long residential program open to individuals with Williams syndrome, talented in music from around the nation, and has a dual purpose of studying Williams syndrome while providing music enrichment through performance and education. Other Lifting Lives giving includes serving members of the country music community who face unexpected financial hardship through the Diane Holcomb Emergency Relief Fund, and partnering with music artists to improve lives.
