ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC® WELCOMES DWIGHT YOAKAM FOR A VISIT

Encino, CA (July 23, 2012) – The Academy of Country Music welcomed ACM Award winner Dwight Yoakam for a visit earlier this month.  While at the Academy he previewed songs from his upcoming album, 3 Pears, which will be released on September 18th on Warner Bros. Records.  

 

Yoakam will be honored with the Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award at the 6th Annual ACM Honors event on September 24th in Nashville.  The Award honors individuals who are pioneers in the country music genre. Past recipients of the Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award include Alabama, Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, Charlie Daniels, Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Brenda Lee, Loretta Lynn, Willie Nelson, The Oak Ridge Boys, Dolly Parton, Charley Pride, Jerry Reed, Tex Ritter, Marty Robbins, Kenny Rogers, Mel Tillis, Randy Travis, Conway Twitty, Porter Wagoner, Hank Williams, Sr., Hank Williams Jr. and Bob Wills, among others.
