Live Tweets To Be Featured on Telecast For First Time Ever

 

New ACM Awards App, ACM Website, Second Screen Viewing Experience, GetGlue, #ACMs and more!

 

Encino, CA (March 30, 2012) – The Academy of Country Music and dick clark productions are revealing  new fan engagement initiatives associated with the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.  For the first time ever fans will have multiple ways to interact and participate in the events leading up to and throughout the broadcast of the ACM Awards on Sunday, April 1 (8:00 – 11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.   Music fans are encouraged to check out the following interactive elements to participate in the ACM Awards:

 

Fan Voting for Entertainer of the Year and New Artist of the Year –Fans have the power to choose the Academy of Country Music's Entertainer of the Year, powered by the Ram Truck brand, and New Artist of the Year by logging on to www.VoteACM.com or via text message using a number that will be announced during the telecast.  Fans can cast their vote for New Artist of the Year through the start of the live broadcast and Entertainer of the Year into the third hour of the show.

 

Live Tweets During Broadcast: For the first time ever, the ACM Awards will curate live tweets from both artists and fans and display during special parts of the show LIVE on CBS. 

 

Social Splash: Starting today, fans can visit www.ACMcountry.com/socialsplash.html for a fully interactive social page to get details about all things digital surrounding the ACM Awards; including ACM Buzz, where fans will have the opportunity to interact with the show, the artists and each other using social media, and also participate in real-time polls, see featured profiles and live social media feeds -- all accessible via mobile devices.  Moments surrounding The Week Vegas Goes Country® will be featured prominently, including a LIVE STREAM of the Great American Country’s “GAC Red Carpet Live” pre-show!

 

ACM Awards App:  The official mobile app of the Academy of Country Music powered by Mobile Roadie is available now for iPhone and Android users. The free app will live year-round to give fans everything they need to know about the Academy of Country Music and the ACM Awards, including a schedule for all events throughout The Week Vegas Goes Country®, facts about each ACM nominee, an ACM nominee playlist, exclusive videos, and Dr Pepper photocards.   Frequent users of the app will have the chance to earn Justin/Wrangler badges.  iPhone users can access it via http://bit.ly/GNlAhM and Android users can access it via http://bit.ly/GSc5AF.

 

Get Glue Check-ins: Fans can check-in to the “ACM Awards” now throughout the live telecast of the ACM Awards on April 1st to unlock exclusive stickers at http://getglue.com/tv_shows/acm_awards. By checking in during the ACM Awards telecast, fans are entered to win a trip to the 2013 Academy of Country Music Awards!

 

ACM Awards Moments on Facebook, Twitter Contests: Fans can follow the ACM on Twitter (@ACMawards) and on Facebook (www.facebook.com/AcademyofCountryMusic) and for behind-the-scenes photos and videos from rehearsals, red carpet arrivals, and all of the events during The Week Vegas Goes Country ®.  Check out historic video and photos from past Awards shows in the ACM Facebook Timeline. Be Part of a Reba or Blake Video! Mashup Contest: Now through April 3rd fans can log on to Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/AcademyOfCountryMusic/app_116272508446233) and use the “Mashup” app, powered by Audish, to sing along to our award show hosts’ hit songs and have their recording inserted into Reba’s “Turn on the Radio” and/or Blake Shelton’s “Honey Bee” and official music videos.

 

ACMcountry Redesign – The Academy’s official website, ACMcountry.com, underwent its first redesign since 2008 recently. The site is designed and hosted by Bubble Up, a leading provider of digital services to the music industry, and features great original ACM video content, fan photos and the latest in social media platforms.   

 

ACM Tempo:  The Academy’s quarterly professional member magazine, is now also available for the 200,000 plus ACM A-List members online. A digital flipbook version of the magazine is shared through a private link exclusively with fans who sign up for the FREE A-List. The recently redesigned ACM Tempo, which is produced in-house in Encino, Calif.,  and designed by Karabin Creative of Phoenix, Ariz., , features Academy news, great photos and original interviews with country’s hottest stars. Recent cover stories have included Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift and Blake Shelton & Reba.
