TOP NOMINEES:

Miranda Lambert is the leading solo nominee with 7 nominations

Zac Brown Band is the leading group nominee with 5 nominations, Zac Brown received 4 additional nods

Kenny Chesney receives 5 nominations

Taylor Swift and The Band Perry each receive 4 nominations

Lady Antebellum, Lee Brice, Easton Corbin, Alan Jackson and Keith Urban each receive 3 nominations

  • First time Academy of Country Music Award nominees include: The Band Perry (4 nominations), with an additional nod for Kimberly Perry as composer for Song of the Year “If I Die Young,” Lee Brice (3 nominations), Eric Church (1 nomination), Easton Corbin (3 nominations), Colt Ford (1 nomination), the JaneDear girls (2 nominations) and Emily West (1 nomination).

  • Reba invited Blake Shelton to co-host the Academy of Country Music Awards this year – this marks Reba’s 13th time hosting and Blake’s first time.  Host facts:

  • Blake will be the 50th ACM Awards host since the Awards began, there have been a total of 49 to date

  • Reba has hosted 8 times solo, in the years 2002-2004 and again in the years 2006-2010

  • Blake will be Reba’s first co-host since Alan Jackson co-hosted in 1994

  • Three times in the Academy’s history there was no host for the Awards, in 1998, 1999 and 2005

  • Others who have hosted multiple times include George Strait (5 times), Dick Clark (4 times), Clint Black, Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette (3 times) and Crystal Bernard, Mac Davis, Patrick Duffy, Jeff Foxworthy, Lorne Green, The Judds, Barbara Mandrell, Roger Miller, Randy Owen, Charlie Pride, Jerry Reed and John Schnieder (2 times).

  • If Brad Paisley wins Male Vocalist of the Year, it will be his fifth win in this category.  This is Paisley’s fourth consecutive nod for Entertainer of the Year – if he wins, it will be his first win in this category.

  • Reigning Female Vocalist of the Year Miranda Lambert receives her first nod for Entertainer of the Year.

  • Taylor Swift receives her second consecutive nod for Entertainer of the Year.  If she wins, it will be her first win in this category.

  • Jason Aldean receives 2 nominations – Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year – this is the first time Aldean has been nominated in either category.

  • Lady Antebellum is nominated for Album of the Year for Need You Now.  The reigning Vocal Group of the Year won Song of the Year and Single Record of the Year for “Need You Now” in 2010.

  • This is the second time Kid Rock has been nominated in the Vocal Event of the Year category; if he wins, this will be his first ACM Award.  He was last nominated in 2003 for “Picture” with Sheryl Crow.  Sheryl Crow is also nominated for Vocal Event of the Year.  She has one win in this category – in 2006 for “Building Bridges” with Brooks & Dunn.

  • This is the third year in a row Joey + Rory, reigning New Vocal Duo of the Year, will compete for Vocal Duo of the Year.
