"ROAD TO THE ACM AWARDS" FEATURES ERIC CHURCH & THE BAND PERRY ON CBS.COM
Eric Church and The Band Perry follow in the footsteps of artists who have participated in the "Road To The ACM Awards" series as newcomers, who have gone on to achieve success in the country music industry, including Taylor Swift and Lady Antebellum.
"As we've been paving our road to the ACM awards over the past year our family has grown to include everyone who has helped us create, share and enjoy Country music," said The Band Perry. "Thanks for walking this road with us!"
"While I always think it's dangerous for anyone to follow me around with a camera, I look forward to showing the fans what it's like preparing for the ACMs," shares Church. "And I thank them again for giving me this opportunity."
"Eric and The Band Perry are the perfect acts to feature in such an intimate way," said Lisa Lee, SVP of Creative and Media Production for the Academy. "Each has personality to spare, and they have an amazing connection to their very loyal fan bases. I am certainly interested in seeing where they take us in these webisodes on their way to Vegas."
Church has produced multiple and co-penned hit singles including "Love Your Love the Most," "Hell on the Heart" and "Smoke A Little Smoke" from his sophomore album Carolina. His latest single from his upcoming third studio album, "Homeboy" was USA Today's Pick of the Week and is quickly climbing the country radio charts. Known for his energy-packed live shows, Church has been touring non-stop the last year on his own sold-out headlining tour as well as opening for Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean and this summer - Toby Keith.
The Band Perry - comprised of siblings Kimberly Perry, Neil Perry and Reid Perry - broke into the Top 20 at Country Radio with their first single, "Hip To My Heart," which was followed by "If I Die Young," a Platinum-certified #1 hit."You Lie," their current single, is the fastest-climbing to date. Their Gold-certified, self-titled album, THE BAND PERRY, was released in October 2010, debuted at #2 (Country), #4 (Billboard Top 200) and was certified Gold for sales exceeding 500,000 within four months. As fans have embraced the family band, so too have their industry peers - TBP garnered a Grammy nomination; an early ACM award,as well as an invitation by the American Music Awards to attend as presenters. They have toured with Alan Jackson and will join Tim McGraw's Emotional Traffic tour (April - Aug) and Keith Urban in September."
